Alaska National Guard Community Support Requests

We serve in our local communities and enjoy participating in events and growing relationships with our community partners. As we engage, we are able to build public awareness and understanding of our state and federal missions.

We support many community events each year, including air shows, parades, sporting events and holiday celebrations. Some of the events we have participated in include: Alaska Day Festival, Arctic Thunder Open House, Cama-i DanceFestival, Celebration, Fairbanks Aviation Day, Great Alaska Aviation Gathering, Independence Day, Juneteenth, Kuskokwim 300, Memorial Day, UAA Military Appreciation Hockey Game, Veterans Day, Veterans Golden Age Games and Veterans Totem Pole Raising Ceremony.

The National Guard is primarily a part-time force training and serving our communities, state, and nation in times of need. We accommodate requests as possible, providing military support as regulations, availability and operational mission priority allows. All requests for assistance must be submitted on the proper Department of Defense form, which you will find listed below, and within the required time frame to allow time for processing and approval process.

Request Non-Aviation Support:
Complete DD Form 2536

Submit Completed form to: mvapublicaffairs@alaska.gov

Army Aviation

Static Display
*Submit no later than 8 weeks prior to the event

Flyover
*Submit no later than 12 weeks prior
*Limited and require exception to policy approvals

Request Army Aviation Support:
Complete DD Form 2535

Submit completed form to:
mvapublicaffairs@alaska.gov

Air Force Aviation

Air National Guard flyover and static display requests are requested through the Secretary of the Air Force Public Affairs website.

This Web site will take you through the steps and questions that will generate a DD Form 2535. A request number will be generated for you.
